*Sorry for the delay folks, the boys up in the box are having some 'technical difficulties'. It's fine, it's not like this is WHAT I PAY THEM FOR!

*GOooOOOOoooood morning citizens of Vortex City! I have the special privledge to be hosting this here 'Dev log'. They call it a Dev Log, but I don't see any gosh darn wood anywhere! HA!

*I heard from that hussy of a man, Dussop, that yall be expecting some sort of teaser trailer and release date for 0.30 of Dimension 69 today!

*...

*What's that? I'm getting word that the trailer and release date were meant to be a surprise at the end of the devlog... so what in tarnation is the rest of the gosh darn thing supposed to be?!

*News about the development of 0.30 and discussing future game systems? What kind of nerdy shit is that?

*Fine but whoever organised this is had better pack up their desk!

0.30 Content

*I just have to read what's on the teleprompter, right? Got it.

*Development on 0.30 is well underway, I—why is the teleprompter in first person? I didn't make the darn game. Whatever.—I have recently finished making over 200 new sprites for old and new characters alike, remind me to never give most of the main cast a new outfit at the same time again. I'm sure you've seen some of these new sprites already from the character reveals that have been happening daily on Patreon, but I'll show you one of the casual outfit variants for William Salazar.

*This likely won't be in the update, but I did casual outift variants for all the new characters ahead of time so that they appear in more events I won't have to bash my head against the wall that is my system for making new sprites.

*Those who didn't see the character reveals—like me.— might be wondering 'who the fuck is this girl' and to that I'd first say 'that's a dude'. I'll run through the new characters right now in this next section.

Characters

*There's a lot of new cast members in 0.30 but there's no need to worry about character bloat... okay you can worry a little bit but I promise there's going to be no new characters for a long while after this, I just wanted to introduce a bunch of characters that'll get built/become more relevant later. There's a few characters here that I feel like it'd be weird if I just randomly introduced them later in the story and based on the content of 0.30's main story there's no better place for them to slot in than right here.

*NOT including Gilgamesh and Sargon who first appeared in 0.25, there are only 5—Hey! What about me?!— new characters in 0.30 which by this game's standards is... a lot for a single update but hear me out. If you want to learn more about them you can go look at the character reveal posts that should be public on patreon now that this devlog is out, otherwise you can keep it a little bit of a surprise and go into the update blind. Though if you're reading this than it's not really blind...

*Most of the new cast are not main characters, with most of their content being accessed by a new gameplay system that I'll talk about in a bit.

*I want to make it perfectly clear that while there are a lot of new characters in this update that the update is equally balanced between existing and new characters. Specifically Kit and MC are big parts of 0.30's main story. Well, obviously MC is going to be a big part of the story... well, you'll see what I mean... In fact there's a large amount of really fun interactions between existing characters that usually aren't seen together. It's all a part of me trying to make the world of Dimension 69 feel more alive, because I'm well aware it feels kind of barren at times, especially the prime dimension. Anyway the characters definitely feel a lot more rounded in this update because they like actually fucking talk to each other instead of using MC as a lightning rod. It kind of plays into the whole theme of this update's story but I won't get into it that much.

*You might've also noticed that most of the new charater reveals featured a different school uniform. I won't get into it much but I'll just say that those new uniforms aren't exclusive to new characters.

New Gameplay/future ideas

*The scope of the main story of 0.30 kind of inflated out of my grasp so I've had to gimp some of the new gameplay features I wanted to add in this update, but I'm planning on adding them in the coming few updates. I'll go over what gameplay system is still getting added first.

*You might remember the google forms poll that I did a few weeks ago, the clubs system that I mentioned in one of the questions is the main anchor that holds 0.30 together. It's extremely relevant in the story mainly, but it's also going to be a way to add more events to the game that features underutilised characters, essentially how it's going to work is that you can attend a club on a certain day of the in-game week. For example 'Art Club' takes place on Tuesday. When you go to Art Club, you'll see a slice-of-life scene featuring a number of the club members and then based on CHOICES you make during the scene, you'll gain more or less reputation for that club. Upon getting certain thresholds of reputation you'll unlock 'activities' you can do with that club where you'll choose one of the club members and get a h-scene with them. There's also maybe a reward in store for getting a club's reputation to max.

*Now, there's a club for every day of the week, including saturday. Thats... a lot of fucking work, so while there's a sneak peek for most of the clubs included in the main story for you to kind of get the vibe of what the club is going to be like, most of the clubs will NOT be in 0.30. I will likely only have time to add the Art Club. The other clubs will be added over time, though I should really finish up the sex events first so 0.31 will likely be Azalea's Sex event instead of a new club. I might go back and forth between adding additions to the two systems, I'm not sure yet.

*Other clubs include a Swim Club, an Investigation Club, a Board Game Club and a Drama Club.

*That's not all that was in the Google form questionnaire though, you might remember me mentioning an update to the Bar. I plan to add a system where you can have exclusive VIP dates with some of the side characters, mainly milfs like Vicky and niche characters like Daitsy or T-175. I obviously don't have the time to add this system in 0.30, but that'll come before 0.35 hopefully... Look, there's a lot of stuff that needs to be done. The dream for this system is to make it a sort of mini game where you try to drink more WATER than your opponent, through games like rock paper scissors and answering personal trivia about the character you're giving the VIP service to. This would all ideally end in two different H-scenes based on who won. Though I might just make it one so I don't die from over working myself.

*Last gameplay system that I'm working on: A replacement to the 'Request' button in character menus. Not only are the animations in that system really old and a bit out of place, but they haven't been working on a good chunk of Android phones since I added them to the game. I'm going to replace these with a new system called 'Dreams' (unless I change my mind) I haven't fully fleshed out the idea yet but effectively it'd be the same system in practice, but it would be animated in a full 3d space instead of being a transparent video and would likely have camera controls or something, I don't know. I'll figure something out, this is the least developed new idea but it's better than adding a gifting system to the game because that would just get too grindy. Maybe i'll find a middle ground between the two, who knows.

*FUCK, there's still more to this damn teleprompter. Ugh.

*Before we wrap up, I know usually I put the patch notes for the coming update in devlogs, but this time I don't really have concrete patch notes for you and I wouldn't want to raise expectations. I guess what you can expect is a very long main quest with a lot of renders and something fun to do in the art club after the fact. Main story has taken priority over everything else so depending on how long that takes me will change what else I can add to the update. I also am making a lot of new music for this update, so get ready for your ears to bleed I guess. I mean I made the song in the teaser trailer you're about to see so that's a bit of a sneak peek of how bad it's going to suck. Also I am terrible at editing videos man that sucked. Given that I've already gotta 'earn' like $3000 or some shit to get all the outfits and extra renders, I'm pretty happy hearing that you're keeping grind to a minimum for future stuff. I personally think that, with the bar license upgrades and occasional high-value fish, it's riiiiight at the tipping point of being annoyingly grindy. Not quite there, but it could be, and locking unique scenes behind that would push it over. In my opinion. But I dunno. You're the dev, I'm just some douche. Great game, very excited for this update.
